Southeast Asian Accelerators

Southeast Asian countries, excluding East Timor, form an Association of Southeast Asian Nations called Asean: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The area is a home to more than 645 million people, and together they make up 2.7 trillion dollars' economic area, with an average annual GDP growth of about 5 % in recent years.

Asean countries are intensifying their cooperation to increase the area's economic competitiveness and economic and political weight in the global economy. In 2015 they founded an Economic Community AEC, with the aim of creating a single market area where free movement of goods and services, capital and investments, and skilled labor takes place.
